Die Walskipper is an iconic landmark, situated on the edge of the ocean. It is here where “locals” and visitors have been meeting for more than two decades, to enjoy our delicious food and an uninterrupted view of the ocean.
In 2019, Shawn and Michelle decided it was time to leave the big city behind and put their passion into their own business, so they bought Die Walskipper. It was a big decision, but an adventure they are thrilled to have started.
Shawn has had a long career of more than 35 years as a chef and has extensive experience both nationally and internationally.
He has had the privilege of cooking for one of the most iconic people in the world, the great Nelson Mandela, as well as a number of sporting heroes, captains of industry and even a celebrity of two.
Michelle has worked in the hotel industry for 28 years, 23 of which were spent working for one of Southern Africa’s largest hotel groups. She worked on many large events, functions and weddings as well as national and International sporting events, during this time she was fortunate to meet some amazing people.
