Restaurant

Die Walskipper restaurant has most of its food prepared on open fires or old fashioned gas cookers that give an authentic home cooked South African flavour to all our dishes. All our main dishes are served with rice, home backed bread, patė and jam.

Our “Starters” are magnificently presented and include unusual treats like quail eggs, springbok biltong and droëwors, or oysters on ice. Our “From the Land” section from the main course include old favorites as well as something for the more adventurous diner such as traditional “Afval”, crocodile steak or ostrich steaks.

Our selection “From the Sea” gets the taste buds tingling with calamari steak, perlemoen, sole, catch of the day or our “seafood pan for two”. Homemade koeksisters, malva pudding cheesecakes, or ice-cream with strawberries makes up the desert choices to round of a perfect meal.

Vir die spyskaart word die nette wyd uitgegooi en dis bedien ons ‘n verskeidenheid van heerlike geregte. Alle geregte en drankies word in blikborde en bekers voorgesit. Met die spyskaart “Van die Land” kan ‘n mense kies tussen outydse skaapafval, beesstert in rooiwyn, volstruis, vegetariese roerbraai en krokodil.

Gaste wat lus is vir iets vars uit die see kan onder meer oesters op ys, seekospan of skulpvispan vir twee, perlemoen of kreef bestel. In die middel van die restaurant prut ‘n pot moerkoffie op ‘n ou Esse stoof.

Daar is min restaurante waar ‘n kinderhand sommer langs die tafel ‘n sandkasteel kan bou.
